Academic excellence

Virginia Preparatory is widely regarded in the Durban North area as a centre of Academic excellence. Our Academic programme is designed to cater for the various needs of all our pupils. Our badges and certificates, which are awarded at the end of every term, recognise academic merit, progress, diligence and perseverence. This system allows all learners to achieve at their individual level, to realise their potential and to be recognised for their efforts.

Our educators are a dedicated group who attend courses to keep abreast with changes and developments in education. Our teachers from grade 4 – 7 have been trained for the implementation of CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements) for all the approved subjects.

Conquesta Olympiads are written every alternate year. Our academic standard is reflected in Virginia Preparatory having been placed in the Top 20 schools for the past five years. We also participate in various Maths Olympiads.

The number of scholarships to both government and private schools awarded to our Grade 7 pupils is testimony to the high academic standard we strive for at Virginia Preparatory. We regularly receive positive feedback from the high schools with regard to the good work ethic of our Virginia pupils and the solid foundation they have received at our school.

At Virginia every child and teacher is encouraged to display the passion and motivation that is required for success.
